What will happen if hair conditioner is applied to the roots?
Q. My beautician advised me to apply hair conditioner just to the hair alone and not to the roots. What will happen if it is applied to the roots? Is it safe to use hair conditioners?

A. The reason for this is so the conditioner does not weigh down your roots and leave your hair flat and lifeless - that is the only reason. Conditioners can be too heavy on the roots so you get flat hair with no volume. :o) Hair conditioners are very safe to use - even on the roots but you may get less volume. If you are concerned about this or if your hair lacks volume, find a lightweight conditioner that says it won't weigh down the hair or you may want to find a light leave in spray conditioner - conditioner is my favorite ~~

A. no as it's just a surface conditioner, as the name suggests it only works on the surface of your hair. you need to get a penetrating treatment that will condition your hair from the inside out. I forgot to add with penetrating treatments ( well the ones i work with) you need to use heat as well, you can use a hairdryer on a low setting, will work just as well as a dryer at the salons, sometimes people will wrap a hot towel around their head while the treatment is in. Both will work, but the hairdryer will be easier and you wont be left with a wet towel.

Can I use fish tank water conditioner for my hermit crabs drinking/spray water?
Q. I can't seem to find my hermit crab water conditioner, but I've got this big bottle of fish tank conditioner. Is it basically the same stuff or should I hold off until I can get to the pet store again? They make hermit crab water conditioner but it's like 4 times the price as aquarium conditioner. Yup, I have the salt water, too. Thanks!

A. Yes you can. As long as it doesn't stimulate slime coat. I have yet to see a product made just for hermit crabs. But most products make " Just for hermit crabs" are usually really bad for them. I use a Doc Wellfish product. as long as it removes chlorine and heavy metals it should be fine. make sure you have fresh and salt water too. most pet stores sell aquarium salt. Edit: If it is more expensive then the fish or reptile conditioners use the cheaper one. They are all the same just make sure they are not specialized for fish scales, reptile scales or shedding animals. happy crabbing
