How good are goldstar window air conditioners good at keeping the room cold once the air conditioner is off?
Q. So I got one today and they are pretty loud to loud for me to be able to sleep with it on. so I was curious how long the room would stay cool once the air conditioner is turned off?

A. You are going through the adjustment you are going to have to face while you get used to the noise. You will adjust in a few days. You will just have a hard few days. I recently remarried and my wife needs to sleep with her very noisy fan. She has grown so used to the noise she will not go through the adjustment she needs to go through when it isn't on. Likewise, when you turn it off in the fall you will have to readjust then as well. The A/C will do absolutely nothing to keep the room cool if it is off. Maybe you can take it back and get one with a thermostat on it so it will go on and off as needed.
