An air conditioner is a home appliance, system, or mechanism designed to dehumidify and extract heat from an area. The cooling is done using a simple refrigeration cycle. In construction, a complete system of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning is referred to as "HVAC." Its purpose, in a building or an automobile, is to provide comfort during either hot or cold weather. From Wikipedia under the

Answered by TOOTAl2 - Sun Jul 11 20:38:55 2010 Why are Fuzzy Logic air conditioners more energy efficient than Thermostats?
Q. It's common knowledge that through the use of carefully crafted Fuzzy Logic rules, an air conditioner can be more energy efficient than a thermostat. What I am curious to know is WHY this is so. Thanks! Asked by Neil S - Wed Apr 1 09:25:59 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Two factors contribute to this increased efficiency: First, fuzzy logic control can take advantage of air conditioning machinery which can be set to different levels of output. A thermostats is simply a thermometer, with an electrical switch set to turn "on" when the temperature exceeds the selected threshold. Some air conditioning systems, though, can scale their output (for example by turning on some or all of their units). Fuzzy logic can scale its demand for air conditioning, based on the temperature and humidity. Second, fuzzy logic allows for a more sophisticated control process. Rather than activating the air conditioning system only when it is either "too hot" or "too humid", it can also do so when it is merely "warm and… [cont.] Answered by Predictor - Fri Apr 3 04:43:24 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Air Conditioners" See also:
